Job Announcement – Part-Time Youth Services Librarian
We have an opening for a Youth Services Librarian at the Kraemer Library & Community Center! We are looking for an energetic, friendly, responsible, creative and organized person to assist and support library services for children and teens. This position works closely with the Librarian and local schools to create and execute programming as well as daily tasks within the children’s library.
Responsibilities include preparations for library programs, creating support materials, leading youth programming, creating book displays, assisting with collection maintenance, and working with staff at the check-out desk. This is a 12 hour a week position with a majority of the hours being M-F. During the summer the hours could potentially increase to 15 hours a week. Occasional evening or weekend shifts may be needed depending on programming schedules.
Minimal job requirements: some post-secondary education/training or equivalent experience; computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office as well as social media; good communication and customer service skills; previous work or experience with children/teens. This is a great opportunity for someone enrolled in library school or considering attending library school. Pay range is $11.79 - $12.59/hour depending on qualifications and experience.
